Hangout Fest 2011: Lineup Coming Soon

The 2011 Hangout Music Festival lineup is reportedly coming out later today. With the Jazz Fest, Coachella and Wakarusa lineups coming out in the past couple weeks and Bonnaroo coming in two weeks, Hangout makes sense as the next major (yeah, we can call it that already) festival to release their lineup. Unfounded rumors of headliners including Phish, Tool, Jack Johnson, Weezer, Dave Matthews Band and My Morning Jacket are floating around today and I expect this year’s lineup to more than trump 2010′s impressive debut. To get all seven of those acts I would assume they would have to considerably slash their asking prices (and maybe they would to benefit the ongoing Gulf Coast relief efforts). However, Phish hasn’t shown intentions of touring until June and Dave Matthews Band is on hiatus for 2011 with the exception of a few special dates (which this could fall under). I could definitely see MMJ playing with a new album coming out in May and headlining spots already announced at Wakarusa, Mountain Jam and an expected return to Bonnaroo on the horizon in May and June.
Here’s the Black Crowes doing “Wiser Time” on the beach from last year’s festival:
