Pretty Lights @ The Sugar Mill - 9/17

One of the more momentous forces in electronic music today, Pretty Lights will be coming to town for a show at The Sugar Mill the night after a tour stop at ACL. PL has reportedly stepped up his visual element in a big way (which was debuted at Bonnaroo in June) and the production will surely continue to evolve. For now, there’s a massive 3D on stage, LED city and “out of this world light show” – see the video below. Tickets for the show are available here for $30.

Like the last two years, NOLA benefits from the proximity to Austin as a good routing stop for bands moving to and from the festival. In ’09, the mini-ACL brought international monster acts Phoenix to Tipitina’s and Arctic Monkeys to House of Blues on back-to-back nights and last year Yeasayer and Dead Weather were in town on ACL weekend. One of these days, perhaps a local promoter needs to wisen up and capitalize on this by way of a proper festival.
