The New Mastersounds continue to grow their following here in New Orleans and last night’s show at Tipitina’s with Fox Street All-Stars marked the first non-Halloween/non-Jazz Fest trip to the Crescent City for the quartet, a chance to play for the ‘real people of New Orleans,’ as the band said during one of their many between-song banters. It was great to see a number of the new tunes from their latest album Breaks From The Border after listening to it several times this summer while on assignment to review the record for Relix. It’s a sleek record and extremely representative of where the band is now as a live act, I highly recommend any regular visitor of this site to give it a listen.
