EXPORT NOLA: Big Sam, Amanda Shaw and More Take Over Brooklyn

For those up in New York, the Preservation Hall 50th Anniversary celebration spectacular at Carnegie Hall on 1/7/12 won’t be the only NOLA-centric musical event going down the first weekend in January. That very same weekend the Backbeat Foundation will be hosting their 4th Annual Export NOLA event. Continue on for details on this multi-day celebration of New Orleans music in the Big Apple.

The 4th annual EXPORT NOLA event will return to New York in 2012. The Backbeat Foundation sponsored event will take place January 6-8 and will highlight members of the Association of Performing Arts Presenters. The list of artists confirmed for this year includes Big Sam’s Funky Nation, Mia Borders, Amanda Shaw, Stooges Brass Band, The Iguanas and Shamarr Allen & the Underdawgs. The Association of Performing Arts Presenters is the largest gathering of national and international performing arts presenters, managers and artists in the world. This year, the event will be held at Brooklyn Bowl and Hill Country. Tickets go on sale to the public on January 7 for the show at Brooklyn Bowl and on January 6 and 8 for the shows at Hill Country. Admission is free for APAP badge holders with an RSVP to the Backbeat Foundation. The full schedule is below.
