Van Halen To Close Reunion Tour in NOLA in June

I’m too young to have ever really experienced a living, breathing Van Halen with David Lee Roth at the mic. For better or worse, my immediate connection with the band’s music is with the songs from Balance (and the conjoined twins on the cover that scarred a portion of my youth) and the guttural screams of Sammy Hagar that carried the band’s torch through the 90′s and 2000′s. Either way, Eddie Van Halen will be on-board again to melt some faces and I’m glad to see yet another aging band bury the hatchet and get back together for a tour before it’s too late to put on a rockin’ show. Last night, the (mostly) reunited original group reformed for an intimate show in NYC 250-capacity Cafe Wha? for Van Halen’s first concert in four years. The mostly reunited Van Halen, featuring singer David Lee Roth, guitarist Eddie Van Halen, drummer Alex Van Halen and bassist Wolfgang Van Halen, will conclude the North American leg of its 2012 tour at the New Orleans Arena on June 26. No word yet on an onsale date.
