It has undoubtedly been of the busier weeks for big live music announcements since the launch of this site over a year ago. It seemed all week long that something new to get excited about over the next few months popped up, starting at the beginning of the week with the announcement of the full Hangout Music Fest lineup at midnight on Monday/Tuesday via facebook.

Tuesday morning, we had the privilege and honor of interviewing guitar legend and 2012 Mardi Gras Marshal (of Sunday’s Thor parade) Leo Nocentelli about his upcoming show on Saturday night at Tipitina’s with The Meters Experience, his ride on the parade and an upcoming album in the works.

announced its long-awaited 2012 lineup today and it seems like there’s a whole lot more to come. The 3rd Annual fest will go down March 9-11 in the Marigny / Bywater.

Zanier-than-thou rock-n-cabaret troupe The New Orleans Bingo! Show is taking over 715 St. Charles Ave. (the venue formerly known as “Le Chat Noir”) all weekend long, read about it here.

New Orleans released their New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival late night schedule details and the slate includes performances by Robert Randolph & the Family Band, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Bonerama, Seun Kuti, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Gary Clark Jr., Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews & Orleans Avenue, Beats Antique, New Mastersounds and a couple killer late late Superjams – check it out.

Red Hot Chili Peppers were a late addition to the Hangout Fest lineup.
