Lost Bayou Ramblers Release Mammoth Waltz April 17th

The 6th LP from Lost Bayou Ramblers titled ‘Mammoth Waltz’ includes appearances by Scarlett Johansson, Dr. John, Gordon Gano of Violent Femmes, Nora Arnezeder, as well as Taylor Guarisco and Kirby Campbell of Lafayette, LA’s GIVERS.

Lafayette, LA’s Lost Bayou Ramblers, who earned a Grammy nomination for their 2007 Live: À la Blue Moon album, took a new creative approach for their 6th studio album, titled Mammoth Waltz. Produced by their newest member, Korey Richey [GIVERS], at the famed Dockside Studios in Maurice, LA, the album is scheduled for release on April 17 on the band’s own Bayou Perdu Label.

“We wanted to play the music that we love, and what represents us as a band,” says singer/fiddle player Louis Michot about the new album. “There are a great many influences on this album, a lot more ground covered.”

With an eclectic cast of cameos which includes actresses Scarlett Johansson and Nora Arnezeder, Violent Femmes’ front-man Gordon Gano, fellow Lafayette, LA, band GIVERS’ vocalist/guitarist Taylor Guarisco and drummer Kirby Campbell as well as Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member and legendary New Orleans icon Dr. John, Mammoth Waltz takes the Lost Bayou Ramblers out of their niche and into the larger realm of rock and roll.

Wesley grew up in coastal Georgia and is a former resident of The Music City and The Big Easy where he helped get LMB NOLA off-the-ground after launching in January 2011.
