WHY: Grace Potter possesses the pipes and the stage presence to captivate an audience for hours on end. Oh, and the Nocturnals hold their own as well, catapulting Ms. Potter from just another out-of-this world voice into a full-fledged powerhouse act that’s capable of shredding, jamming, and swooning. I caught her at Bonnaroo and Hangout Fest last year and am dying to see her work a smaller venue. Her NOLA track record has been strong of late with a phenomenal performance back in February of 2011 (see the video of “Oasis” below for visual proof). And to boot, you can stick around House of Blues either night and catch some incredible follow up acts including Karl Denson and Anders Osborne’s Thursday night take on Sticky Fingers and the annual 2 a.m. New Mastersounds blow outs over the weekend.
