Lovers of all that is hip and all righteous hop, here is a gift for you, bestowed upon the lucky fandom of one of the greatest artistic groups of all time, the Beastie Boys. Give it up for our outstanding local artists, including members from Gravity A, Flow Tribe, Jealous Monk and others, who have come together to bring us a class act rendition of the Beastie Boys’ License to Ill (among other hits by the beloved MC’s). The tribute comes at a sentimental time, after the death of one of music’s greats, Adam Yauch, this past May. In the wake of hip-hop’s and humankind’s loss, Saturday night at One Eyed Jacks is going to offer this city a chance to celebrate the lovingly humanitarian life of Yauch, and a chance to admire the work of this ever-exciting, eclectic roster of beat-tastic wordsmiths.
