Fresh of their latest album, Swing Lo Magellan, the Dirty Projectors are bringing their smoothly flamboyant and fidgety style of musical bliss to the House of Blues in New Orleans this Saturday, August 4th. Led by front man, David Longstreth – a formative songwriting genius in his own right – this band is a graceful pack of melodious wit and instinct, driven by prismatic arrays of nymphal vocal harmonies, as well as brilliant, escapist instrumental transitions. To put it simply, Dirty Projectors will provide an incessant volume of musical integrity for your oracular absorption, so don’t miss out. And as if that wasn’t enough to prompt your attendance, opening act, Wye Oak, is wholly worthy of your utmost admiration as well. This Baltimore-based duo, consisting of Andy Stack on drums and keyboard and Jenn Wasner on guitar and vocals, has forged a sound that covers too many genres to list, and they do it seamlessly. Their latest album, Civilian (released in 2011), is sure to captivate every bit of your ear-attention, and the live show this Saturday will only entrance you further as the band sucks you into the ferociously gentle nature that is Wye Oak.
