Do you enjoy the righteous display of soul-scaping rock n’ roll via the minds and bodies of some of our most seasoned rocker vets? Do you like to burrow yourself into the belly of each and every Tipitina’s Saturday night party? If yes (and of course it is), you best prepare yourself for this weekend, as Brooklyn-based five-piece, Walkmen, head into the revered valley of love and sound down on Napoleon Avenue. Fresh off their latest album, Heaven (a personal favorite of the LMB Nola space cadets), Walkmen have been rolling into and out of state lines on the present howling tour, and oh-so-lucky are we here in New Orleans to host them for the second time in two years (last performance at One Eyed Jacks, 3/2/11) for yet another episode of pure and loving rock. Filled with vibrant lines of everything form agony to bliss, lead man Hamilton Leithauser leads the group as they rise and rise, taking your hearts with them (see “Heaven” from latest album; video below), and then as they plummet like a maddened roller coaster into chaos (check out the timeless track, “The Rat,” from Bows and Arrows – video also below).
