This Saturday night the spirit of our dearly departed Henry Roeland Byrd, aka Professor Longhair or just straight-up Fess, will be alive, well, and restless within the sacrosanct walls of Tipitina’s Uptown. Why you ask? ‘Cause we’re havin’ a party – a House Party New Orleans Style. And if every word in that sentence is like music to your ears, you are in some kinda luck because those won’t be the only golden notes to hear this night, not by a long shot.

Fess’ House Party New Orleans Style, a reference to the Dr. Professor’s 1987 album of the name, is brought to you by the Tipitina’s Foundation as “a benefit to renovate and preserve the family home of Professor Longhair.” So it’s not going to just be one hell of a good time – it’s for a good cause.

Throughout the star-studded night, George Porter Jr. and the Tipitina’s Allstars will be holding down the stage as a magnificent carousel of musical titans will be making themselves felt deep down in your soles. The special line-up of jazzy genius coming up to tickle the ivories includes the good Dr. John, Ellis Marsalis, John Cleary, Ed Volker and more. Plus T.I.P. Interns led by Donald Harrison Jr. Can I get a FUNK YEA!

General Admission tickets are on sale on for $35.00 and VIP tickets, which include balcony access and an open bar, can also be purchased for $80.00.
