PREVIEW: Bear Creek Festival – 11/8/12 – 11/12/12

Ladies and gentlemen, the time is finally approaching for our pilgrimage to the fun and loving depths of Live Oak, Florida for one of the year’s most anticipated music festivals. That’s right, Bear Creek Music Festival is upon us, and we’ve got a little bit of insight to offer you in regards to the sensory delight that will soon be caressing your oracular and spectacular smiles.

We’re going to toss a few of our favorite artists who will be performing this year, so why don’t you dig into the words and videos and set sail for pure entertainment:

CHARLES BRADLEY & His Extraordinaires:

After seeing this enormous soul of a man perform at Bonnaroo this past summer, my life was changed for the better. When I say soul, I mean it – Charles Bradley has the touch of god in that voice and in his poetics, all of it truly a blessing to us mere humans. Compared to a modern-day James Brown, Bradley has a knack for preaching his troubled life to every open heart who hears him, and if you’re lucky enough to be in the crowd this year at Bear Creek, prepare to open that heart nice and wide for this experience.

EARPHUNK:

Well, it was just this past Saturday night that I was fortunate to see these New Orleans natives blow the lid off The Maison down on Frenchman street. But, this came to no surprise, as every performance that this band musters is a true episode of fuuuunnnkkkkk. Raunchy, dirty, down right fun to the core of your bones, Earphunk is one show at Bear Creek that no one should stand to miss.

GEORGE PORTER Jr. and His Runnin’ Pardners:

Again, being a lucky member of the Voodoo Experience crowd this past weekend, I was lucky enough to indulge the mastermind bassist that is George Porter Jr. You want to feel the full-throttle attack of rock-funk commanders? Of course you do, so missing George Porter this year at Bear Creek is simply out of the question. Oh, and this won’t be their first go-round at Bear Creek, so let the veternas take control of your soul – Get there, get down, get partied up!

MOON TAXI:

These Nashville-based rockers will bring the indie-rock sting to your frontal lobes this year at Bear Creek Festival, I can assure you. After the release of their second album earlier this year, the band has been touring the country with a mesmerizing force of fun and seemingly immortal energy, so, again, do not miss this one!

Obviously our list here is non-exhaustive, and the offerings of Bear Creek Festival 2012 are far too great to enumerate.
