FESTIVAL RECAP: Voodoo Experience Day 2

Day two of the 2012 Voodoo Experience kicked off right as pie on Saturday as we showed up in time to catch Alvin Youngblood Hart do his dirty thing on the 6-stringer, and then we just kept piling it up form there. Feufollet was next, with their immaculate touch of cajun folk, and from there we moved over to catch some of the Soul Rebels set. Staying nice and comfy at the WWOZ Stage, we caught The Features, a Nashville-based rock outfit that kept the goods a’ comin’. Then we indulged the glorious Jamaican reggae outfit, Toots and the Maytals, which is a performance I will never turn down if the opportunity to see them comes back around. Ending the night with a soul-bending set from Anders Osborne with Jay Sansone and Big Chief Monk Boudreaux and onto the rave-adventure of Justice did our Saturday at Voodoo, well, plenty of justice. Ultimately, we got everything we could ask for and tons more with this year’s incredible day-two line up!
