Check out the accompanying LMB NOLA & Friends Year In Review post here
It’s always interesting to hear what artists have to say when recalling past concert experiences and in particular, which ones stick out in their mind as “memorable”. After an evening up on-stage, musicians take home an entirely different recollection of their live music experience from the faces in the crowd. READ MORE

As it has the tendency to do, the diaspora from music’s big bang genesis continues to sprawl to the endless stretches of the universe. Over the past 12 months, new genres, sonic ideas and sounds that were inconceivable only a year ago nebulously formed from the remnants of burned out supernovas of yesteryear to inspire what we’ve heard over the past 12 months. May 4th was a damn fine night that bled well into Cinco de Mayo during midweek of this year’s Jazz Fest. Starting the night off at House of Blues for Gregg Allman followed by the late night Megalomaniac’s Ball over at The Howlin’ Wolf made for an incredible evening READ MORE

Review by Grant Thomas
Garage A Trois took the stage at One Eyed Jacks last night rockin’ matching gray Puma track suits, setting the tone for the full-fledged weirdness that would ensue. One of the music universe’s more intriguing collaborations, Garage a Trois meshes the musical stylings of four immensely talented musicians into something altogether unique, disruptive, and powerful. During the show, my buddy and I joked over PBRs that it would be impossible to label Garage A Trois’ sound without throwing ‘fusion’ on at the end for good measure, and a day later I’ve accepted the fact that it would be a disservice to put Garage a Trois into any specific category(ies). Blending elements of funk, jazz, rock, hip-hop, punk, metal, ska, and whatever they feel like exploring on a given night, Garage a Trois’s sound is truly one of a kind. READ MORE

Always Be Happy, But Stay Evil
LMB NOLA favorite Garage A Trois will be be in South LA the next couple days for a Thursday show in Baton Rouge and will be back in town on Friday night at One Eyed Jacks. This is the jazz-rock fusion supergroup’s first appearance in the Big Easy since playing a number of shows during this year’s Jazz Fest. We were there back on May 4th for the Megalomaniac’s Ball at The Howlin’ Wolf and their in-store earlier that day at Lousiana Music Factory. Ever since finally getting to see them for the first and second time in the same day, I’ve been itchin’ to see the Mike D., Skerik, Stanton and Marco B. altogether once again. See below for tickets and information about the show. READ MORE
